It has been a long time since I was in high school. I was into a lot of bands back then. Deftones, Rob Zombie, Orgy, Powerman 5000, Korn, Prodigy, Coal Chamber, Static X, Seven Dust… I mean, the list really does go on. I kept up with a lot of bands back then.
Things have changed since then. I’m a Christian now and none of that stuff is all that Christian. LOL.
Out of all those bands, probably 30 something in number. One that still sticks out to me as a band that has held up is Deftones. They were one of my favorite back then and they still are carrying that same sound today.
I don’t listen to them today because the content isn’t for this old soul any more. Got to give it to them though, because they still have that sound. And since 1988 to today that sound hasn’t changed. Most bands either fade away or sell out. They have done neither.
